Advancing Healthcare Workforce Debate: Webinar Series Bridges Evidence and Policy

Join the Discussion on Implementing Healthcare Workforce Policies

In response to the pressing challenges facing global healthcare systems, a collaborative effort spearheaded by the International Journal of Health Planning and Management, the EUPHA section Health Workforce Research (EUPHA-HWR), and the WHO Collaboration Center for Healthcare Workforce Policies and Planning/NOVA-Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Lisbon, Portugal, has resulted in a groundbreaking Webinar Series.

The webinar series, titled “The Workforce Crisis in Healthcare: Moving the Debate to Bridge Evidence and Policy,” will delve deep into the intricacies of healthcare workforce policies and interventions across diverse countries. Registration for the event is mandatory, but it comes at no cost.

Shaping Policy and Identifying Weaknesses

The primary goal of this series is to propel the healthcare workforce debate forward by focusing on the practical implementation of policy recommendations and pinpointing areas of weakness. Through a comprehensive exploration of various healthcare workforce policies, the series aims to catalyze meaningful change within healthcare systems globally.

Insights from Special Issue

Drawing insights from a special issue of the International Journal of Health Planning and Management (2024, 39(3): 605–969), the webinar series promises to provide a rich tapestry of knowledge and expertise on this critical subject matter. The special issue can be accessed at: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/toc/10991751/2024/39/3

Interactive Policy Dialogue

Led by special issue editors Ellen Kuhlmann, Gabriela Lotta, and Tiago Correia, alongside EUPHA-HWR section President Marius Ungureanu, the webinar series comprises four interactive sessions designed as policy dialogues.
